The Texas Society for Microscopy invites participation to the 2016 annual meeting. The meeting and the workshop will be hosted by Department Materials Science and NanoEngineering at Rice University, 6100 Main St, Houston, TX 77005 on February 18-20, 2016 . The workshop is open to everyone and will be held on Thursday, February 18.
Multiple Workshops - Feb 18, 2016
(1) JEOL Workshop @ Rice Electron Microprobe Analysis
Time: 9am- 4pm
(2)Hitachi / Bruker Workshop @ Baylor College of Medicine
Time: 9am – 12pm
Introduction to EDS microanalysis techniques to optimize elemental data acquisition on a high resolution FE-SEM.
(3) Hitachi Workshop @ Baylor College of Medicine
Time: 1pm – 4:30pm
Introduction to Ionic liquid specimen preparation for charge reduction during high resolution imaging of non-conductive materials in a high vacuum.
PLATFORM PRESENTATIONS will be scheduled for 15 minutes, with an additional 5 minutes for questions on either Friday or Saturday morning. If you have a conflict with one of those days, consideration will be given to your needs if they are indicated on the original submission forms. Otherwise, you will be expected to present at the time scheduled by the program chair. If you need more time for your presentation (up to 30 minutes), please specify it on the submission form. Please, prepare your presentation using PowerPoint and bring it to the meeting on either a flash drive or CD.
POSTER PRESENTATIONS: Posters will be displayed on poster boards measuring 36” by 48”.
